The tram depot was bustling with people, as drivers prepared to take over their shifts. You never thought of it, because the thought of driving a tram yourself has always made you anxious, but many tram drivers worked at the one time. Obviously. The lines stretched the whole settlement. There would only be a tram every few hours otherwise.
Though sometimes it felt like there was.
Anyway, as the suns set, you calculated the exact time Ehvay would have gotten on the tram. -20 sundegrees, give or take a few minutes. You go up to one of the drivers working.
Do you know who would have been at stop 25 last night at approximately -20 sundegrees?
Yeah, that would have been my friend Shan Dentata. You need them for something?
Yeah, I think they’re the last person to have seen my friend. They would have got off at stop 49 if that means anything.
Oh... that does ring a bell. Shan told me that last night, as a passenger on their train got off at stop 48 or 49, they felt a terrible rumbling of the earth, unlike anything they have felt in their life. And then they heard a scream, but it was cut off.
Oh.
Yeah... I hope you find your friend anyway. I’m really sorry to hear that you lost them. I know I would miss my friends terribly if something like that ever happened to them. You should probably contact the Elders about it.
Thanks.
